Please help... Purchasing dilemma
2007 BMW 328xi Coupe
Alpine White w/ Coral Red Interior 43,000 Miles, CPO'ed to April 2013 Very good condition, the car drives very smoothly, however CarFax reports one accident. It was CPO'ed well after the accident took place. Two owners, both registering the vehicle in very upscale areas of CT. Asking price - $23,200 After about a week, I managed to negotiate the price down to $20,800. Is this a good buy? Any input is greatly appreciated... |

It's not bad, but I would look into the accident. Was it a fender bender or more extensive damage... Although if they are CPOing it, it probably wasn't a big deal. Did you test drive it?
I have an E92 328xi (08 though). Great car. Your color combo sounds good. More details though. What packages? Is there a link? |

Sounds like a fair price. I bought my sedan 07 328xi in the summer with 38k on the clock for 20k not CPOd. Since the car is CPOd I dont think the accident was anything major. It may as well have been a parking lot scrap and a police report was filed so the story didn't change.

I drove the vehicle in town for about 15 minutes and it felt quite smooth, I went over some imperfections in the road and I must say, the suspension is not stiff.
I will be testing it on the highway tomorrow. It was a minor fender bender (rear left). |

sounds like a good price for CPO. if you plan on keeping it "till the wheels fall off", do it!

I'm liking this forum already! You guys are great... I think i'm going to pull the trigger... My 745Li needs to be retired very soon.
One thing that is keeping me on the fence about this purchase is that the drivers side vinyl/plastic piece on the door above the leather trim is a bit faded, probably due to the previous owner resting their heavily moisturized arm on it then leaving it in the sun haha... Also the floor mats are in fair condition. Anything to worry about or look for? |

I would keep searching. Doesn't sound like a bad deal but there are better deals. I just picked up 07 335i e92 sport premium manual 45k miles cpo for 23,500. No accidents

UPDATE:
I got the service record from BMW and I also managed to get the dealer to lower his price to $20,500 (his absolute final price) making it an even 22.1k out the door. The Record shows (worth mentioning): Premium Package Sport Package Hi-Fi Sound System (is this standard?) Does this mean there is no alarm and sat radio: Satellite Radio Preparation ? Alarm Pre-Wiring ? Also, it's Alpine White with Coral Red/Black Dakota Leather Average Yearly Mileage = 8,800 CPO until March 26, 2013 Production date - January 2007 What do you guys think? |
