InDash Cams
Do any of you guys drive around with InDash Cams which record 24/7 on chips
I got into a crazy wreck not too long ago which wasn't our fault and having video footage would have been amazing. I want to purchase a system for precaution as a decent price point. Don't need 1080p etc. Anyone have experience / recommendations? I found this site, but the brackets and everything seems to be extremely bulky. http://dash-camera.com/shop/ TIA! |

Takes the appeal out of it if you have to open the app on your phone and mount it to the windshield every time you get in your car.
The whole appeal of the concealed system is you have footage of the last 6 or 8 hours your car was turned on. |

Those things look so bulky. I wish there was a vendor selling these in the US:

^ Sent then an email. Will see what I can get them for.
Anything else? This is crazy that nothing out there is good, really. It's a HUGE potential market, but I feel like it's too late to develop anything regarding all the current existing technology. What BlackVue has is the exact thing we need here in the US. |

Exactly, if there was a local vendor selling something like that I would put it in every one of my cars.
Even in case of a scam-accident. Let the moron know as he's calling the cops that you have everything on video. Dramatically reduces the chances of even going to court. |

I've been thinking of developing a product like this that is maintenance free and is hardwired to the cars electrical system so it turns on and starts recording when the car is started and dumps video recordings anything past 3 hours so you don't have to worry about it filling up.
I did find this though http://www.amazon.com/Itronics-ITB-7...1067412&sr=8-1 . I haven't done a lot of research on it but it seems small and hassle free, except you will need to find a way to hardwire it to the top console (light and rearview mirror mirror area). |

I don't have one but I did see a vid once where someone backed their x5 into a guys crappy car on purpose to make it look like he hit them, his dashcam recorded it all. You see him point to it in the video and the x5 drivers face just goes white

Does the data overlap? Is there a cable which I can hardwire my stuff with? I don't want a cable hanging all the way down. I want a super stealthy and clean install. That, is the exact opposite. But if you can work something out, I'm game. I'm on the verge of buying three BlackVue's. |

the bracket itself is no bigger than those come w gps devices (e.g., garmin). the weight of the cam does not allow tiny base for mounting purpose, simple physics. there might be better base in the market but sorry not for our product. the wire, BMW, but as said, you can modify the cig room and the wire will not all the way hanging around. but if you do not mod the cig room, all gps devices would be the same as ours. of note here, the cam has internal battery and should hold several hours of operating. auto start recording when engine on and auto turn off when engine off (w power plugged in mode). memory/recording auto overlap, you can choose dif duration, e.g., 5 min. NOTE, when you listen to the video carefully, there was minor noise in the background. IT IS CAUSED BY CAM itself possibly due to mag field noise. you cannot hear any noise during using but it is noticeable during playing back on computer. We are designing better software to correct this problem. Just be aware that if you intend to use it as fun recording and it is not the product advertised as gopro. For $60 bucks, it does its intended job flawlessly.

i can take a photo tomorrow (its getting dark here now). if you need it, reply and i will do. the size of it is no dif from those come w gps devices. thanks.
ps. for the memory card, you just need 2 or 4 gb of class 6 sdhc micro. better to purchase such card comes with a standard adapter as well so you can easily insert the card to computer for downloading.
