am i the only idiot?

so finally got to give my car a rip after my intercooler and dp install and omg. these things are a beast with fbo. still havent got meth but its on the list of things to do yet.

so now to my idiot move. while i was installing my er fmic when it came time to break the one time use clip off i didnt have a dremel on hand so i used the screwdriver under the clamp trick. well i tho0ught i was under clamp to brake it off but i actually was into the pipe and put a hole in it. now there is a tab that sticks up into the middle of the pipe which goes against the air. and from what i could tell the pipe is aluminium and as we all know it doesnt take much for aluminium to crack and brake. if this happens im pretty sure my motor will go BOOM!!!! So what i want to ask is am i the only fool to put a hole in the pipe? and where can i buy that pipe to replace it?? how dificult will it be to replace??

i already know i am an idiot for doing this so please be gentle with the insults. please help!!

i think that the longer tube would be your best solution. just bend the tab to the normal position instead of breaking it. you dont want to risk making it worse by fighting it to break.

i think that the longer tube would be your best solution. just bend the tab to the normal position instead of breaking it. you dont want to risk making it worse by fighting it to break.

But if I don't brake it off I think I risk it braking off while I driving and popping my motor

that would work but you want as small of rubber sleeves as you can get there cause its a high presure area and the expansion in that area can lead to boost leaks or pop off later on.

Two silicone couplers and a pipe between, if the length is long enoguh.

Break it off now lol; you might be sorry later that you didn't. Then try and seal it by getting a longer silicone pipe and you should be fine. Just make sure everything is snug and check on it every once in a while for the first few months.

Other then that you might as well buy a new FMIC if it's $380 to replace lol!!!

He create a "tab" by accident when he punched a hole on the pipe. And now it might break off.

Yes I put a hole In the pipe where the one time use clamp is when u was installing my ic. I think I will be taking it apart this weekend to break the tab off and put it in the garbage rather than put it in my motor
