Was it $7 for the entire cupholder assembly or just the silver accent?

How about a cup holder upgrade so that they can actually hold normal sized drinks?

...or one that doesn't feel like its going to break everytime I touch it...

...in all honestly, I knew the cupholders in BMWs (along with some other german cars) absolutely SUCKS. and you know?.. Im OK with that.

Those crazy Germans don't understand why anyone would need a cupholder in a "performance car", because you shouldnt be worried about drinking anything anyway...

...and how are you supposed to drink when both of your hands are on the steering wheels?

BMW cup holders SUCK. you know, I know it. Yet, we still love our cars

BTW: nice mod above, ha, would be the LAST thing I would ever even thinking about changing in more car though looks a tad better than stock though!

Pry off the trim (#3) with something that won't scratch it up. Unscrew the screws (#4) on either side of each cup holder and gently pull out the whole assembly.

Here is a really good DIY, which includes all the part numbers.

When I did this on my E91 one of the parts was slightly different from the OE part. So I had to trim off a bit from the one that was different and stick it on with some 3M mounting tape. Pretty sure I had the right part number, but just sayin'.

If you think these are bad, you should try out the Optimus prime cup holders in the w211 E-Class. That used to break on me if I even looked at it wrong.
These BMW cup holders are much better in my opinion.

You do not need to remove trim #3 Just pop them out as your using it to hold a drink.

You remove #5 & #6 this is the trim that comes off. You snap the new ones on.
