Dealer Inventory Tax? Do i have to pay?

I was reviewing the order sheet that my SA gave me. It has an item called Dealer Inventory Tax....about $100. Do I have to pay it? It seems to me that's additional money to the dealer. I know i have to pay the state tax, title fee and the standard $50 doc fee...but this is the first time i heard of Dealer Inventory Tax. Anyone has negotiate this before? Or $100 seems to small of a $40+k car?

Yes, you have to pay that, and your dealer's income tax, property tax, sales tax on the managers lunch, and clothes, and his kid's birthday present. Oh, his next mortgage payment too. You also have to pay for the giant pole his seems to want to stick up you know where.

Seriously, when do people stop taking this "add on" junk for real. NO, you don't need to pay for your dealer's cost of doing business. That comes out of his GROSS profit. Sorry to say, but your dealer seems like a real snake. Beware. If your dealer insists you pay it then bill him for waisting your time, and insist he pays it. <joke>. Really, if he puts his foot down then shuffle your feet out the door. BMWs are non rare works of art. There are lots of dealers...some of them very upfront and easy to deal with.

i'd assume your 335 is a custom order. Therefore it never went into inventory...so even if there was such as thing as an "Inventory Tax(there isn't!!!), you wouldn't need to pay it anyway.

Your CA is a thief!!! Good luck on the transaction!!!

tell him that you will pay the $100 if he's willing to pay for your sales tax. Tell him that's YOUR cost of doing business.
