I think my car is totaled (Updated with Pics)

Some jackass drove me into a parked Semi Truck cab last night, and I basically tore the front passenger side of my car clean off. Shattered my front rim, and tossed the headlight assembly about 50 feet from where I ended up stopping.

Front driver side and window airbags all went off.

Dude that ran me off the road proceeded to do a crack ass U Turn and sideswipe 2 parked cars on the way out as well.

What do you think the chances are the insurance company will total it? I'm thinking 100% but I'm not sure. I'd love it if it didn't f**k the frame and they can fix it, as It's almost paid off but I guess if they give me enough it might be time for a new LCI...

ugggg, sucks. And my chest feels like someone hit me with a sledgehammer right in the sternum.

I think I'm fine, going to the doctors this afternoon just to have a check up.

No plates, dude literally ran me to the curb, flipped a bitch then sideswiped 2 cars and boned out. no one had a chance to see him or his plates.

I think I was doing around 40, it was gnarly enough for all the airbags to go off, but I didn't hit any of them. My chest hurts like shit though from the seatbelt.

waiting for the tow yard to open so I can move it to me body shop and deal with my insurance... going to be a long day

How is the person that he flipped? Where did this happen? What make (model if you can remember) and color was the truck? Hopefully there are some surveillance cameras around to help bring this scum bag to justice.

Does not take much damage to write these cars off. This is my last 335 after a collision I was in in January.

No airbags went off, but there was front subframe damage. Replacing the subframe requires removing the engine, dash, and front drive train (it's a xi). Doesn't look like $38,000 damage, but that was the final estimate (insurer wrote it off).

Yikes, fellow manitoban. Mpi usually isn't terrible to deal with at least. We had a 3 month old car written off due to fire and a year old infiniti written off by dumb drunk driver. Kind of funny because the infiniti replaced the 4runner that caught fire. Mpi paid us the full price plus 3% for both.

MPI initially thought the car was fixable. The good folks at Winters Autobody clued them in to just how much it would cost to do a proper repair job.

Winter's does excellent work! We take all of our cars there. But yes, MPI tried to pull that on both the 4runner and the FX now that I recall, but they took a second look at things on both of them actually before they sent anything out and determined them both to be a total loss. With the 4runner they actually sued Toyota on our behalf and recovered the price of the vehicle. Gotta love public insurance...

BTW, OP sorry for But from the sounds of things it seems like your car will be totalled. In my personal opinion, whenever an airbag goes I wouldn't ever feel safe driving that car again. Sum it up to personal fears that something in the repair process was done incorrectly. But GL, also post up some pics when you can.

I also would like to see some pics from the OP, but from the sounds of it I'd put my money on it being a write off.

My insurance company just told me it's a write off before they even inspected it.

Here's some pics. I'll miss her

Ouch! That HAD to hurt! Sorry for your loss OP. you should collect what you can of your mods to either sell or reuse on your next one. What're you gonna replace it with? My vote is M3.

WOW. That asshole really nailed you, didn't he.
You never know, if it happened in a populated or business area, you might be able to find some video surveillance footage of the perp's vehicle.

Hit and runs are sadly all too common in California.
