Car Seats In The e92
Less than 1 month until my e92 ED...As I was pondering the details of my trip I began to wonder about my kids' car seats. One kid is in a Recaro Young Sport and the other a Recaro Start booster. Has anybody ever tried fitting either seat in the back of an e92 or e93? Has anybody ever had a problem fitting any car seat back there?
Thanks everybody! I appreciate you taking the time to reply! |

I don't have your car seats but I use a pretty standard Graco booster and a Brittax car seat without any problems. Rear seats are roomy so no problem getting them in at all.
One thing I did notice is that the booster puts a small but noticeable dent in the leather. Good luck with ED! |

I have not put car seats in my E92, but the seats look as wide as my E90 was and it has no problems. Also noticed the E92 has the little plastic doors over the LATCH system anchors in each rear seat. You should be fine.

I have put both a Britax car seat and a Britax booster seat in the back of the coupe. It fits well. I just make the kids take their shoes off so they don't mark up the back of the seats. The hardest part is getting the seats in and out.

Anybody else have problems with the pitch of the rear seats? I'm an e90 so maybe mine's different, but the seat bottom is pitched back so much that the car seat is almost at a 30deg angle instead of upright. Kind of worries me about force vectors in the event of a collision since they're designed to be mounted flat.

as far as pitch goes.. put tower under the car seat.. high enough.. and then install the car seat.. with a lot of force.. to make sure it does not move.

We took a car seat (not sure brand) with us for our E92 ED and it was manageable. The place is a bit cramped for adults but plenty of room for our 2 year old. Getting him in and out was not too bad. It will give your back a little bit of a workout
enjoy your trip you will do fine. cheers

Great stuff! Thanks guys!
Did you know that in Europe kids need to be in boosters up to the age of 12??? Can you imagine that? My 4 year old is pretty small so he should be cool. The 8 year old will sit behind my wife so he should be good for leg room. The Recaro seats are a touch wide. I need to find somebody with an e92 who will let me try fitting them before I leave. I don't want to go to a dealer just for that... One of the Judges at my courthouse just got his e92 back from ED. I suspect he will let me try them in his car. I am counting the hours until I leave... |
