Servcing help

Hey guys.

My 2006 E90 320d M sport, has only done 40k so has only had 2 services. The car is saying it need a service 07/2012. The car has had both services done by Lind BMW in Colchester and is only 20mins away from me.

I have no idea what to expect for the cost of the next service, Does anyone know what is likely to be due?

My question is is it worth getting it serviced main dealer again or go for a BMW specialist

If it is 3rd service, then it includes all the plugs as well.
Try maindealerdiscount website as you may get good discount from main dealers and you will be able to retain dealer service history.

Sorry mate, just noticed you have diesel car and not petrol. Having said that your 3rd oil service may differ as your car has no spark plugs.

Your OBC should tell you if you need any additional servicing with third oil service.
Check when is your brake pads due, break oil and air filter?

When you say it is showing your next service due, which section is showing that date? Oil service diagram or something else?

Every 3rd oil service just adds fuel filter and air filter for diesels.
Had mine done last week at a main dealer. £350 ish. Probably a lot cheaper at an indi.

So it is 3rd oil service then. Stringbag has answered your items.
Tyr maindealerdiscount website and you may get it b/w 180-250 from main dealer.

Don't be afraid to play dealers off against each other for a quote.

They are very easy to force a deal out of.

If oil service shows 11k remaining then the service being flagged as due won't be the oil service. If the icon displayed shows a car on a platform then this is most likely the Vehicle Inspection which is a visual/safety inspection test only and likely to cost in region of £120

Could it be brake fluid change?

Look at the icon displayed and check the meaning in the manual.

I guess you missed oil service date / mileages.
Looking at your figure, two things are matching.
Micro filter and brake fluid need replacing in 07/12 and I guess oil too.

If oil is included, you will need to go for third oil service + brake fluid + micro filter.
Hefty bill.

That means you can have that service for only £250.
Go to your local dealer, and give them your key. They should be able to pick it up from your key to see what is due.
When they inform you what is due, and if it macthes with your search on main dealer website, I would suggest you to show them print out of prices shown on maindealer discount website, and ask them, if they are interested to price match it.

Hope that works for you.

Yup, basically concept is, dealers usually offers those slots, which are not booked yet and from their experience those slots are less occupied.
