Another: Buying an '09 335xi 6mt

Hey all,

Sooo I just put a deposit down on a beautiful silver on black CPO '09 335xi 6mt. Its fully loaded with basically every option/package available that year.

I'm trading in my beloved '11 STI. I've had 3 STis since 2005 and I honestly am just bored with it at this point. Because of the tsunami STI prices are holding extremely high. So, basically this was an even trade.

I plan to use an accessport on the car like I did on my STis and really just have some fun with the car.

I'm a huge classic car nut so this is the most technologically advanced car I've ever owned - which scares me a bit.

I also own a '74 Alfa Romeo Spider which I love for its purity.

So a few questions:
1. Is there anything the CPO warranty doesnt cover that I should be afraid of?
2. Is the extended maintenance package worth buying?
3. How reliable is this car with an aceessport reflash?
4. What should I be afraid of???

I'm picking the car up in a few weeks in NYC and driving it home to Denver.

Thanks for the advice!

1. nope, just don't expect any electronics like idrive or the radio to be covered. stuff like worn interior pieces and creaks and rattles (interior, not engine related) are not covered.
2. nope. nope. nope.
3. cobb? the most popular tuner is probably JB4 for the n54. look it up, nice features and a great price.
4. not much, don't let the forums scare you

the 335i is probably more reliable than the 08 STIs from what i've read from long term tests

Subaru senior tech with 335 told me its a night and day reliability, Subaru being more reliable

Thanks all. I'm really excited for the car.

How do I know if this car has an oil cooler? It has the sport package but it only has the 17" wheel package.

Thanks!

I for one wouldn't object to you posting pics of the Alfa on this thread

Ask and you shall receive. This is my '74 Alfa Spider in CA when I bought it and drove it home to Denver a few years ago.

Also, anyone have an answer on the oil cooler question? I'm not taking delivery of the car for a few weeks - its in NYC.

Thanks,
