Want to go Vishnu Procede - Have Questions
I am looking to go to a Procede for my 07 335i Sedan (automatic), and I am getting a little confused on the different Revision levels and software revisions.
Looking at the Vishnu site, it appears there are two current options: Rev3 and Rev2.5 but I can't find anything that shows/tells me what each offers in comparison. I'm not looking to go all out with the car, just some more aggressive fun that the JB+ I had doesn't offer. Figured some user input and/or suggestions would be good! |

If you need the additional inputs, etc, go rev3. It also offers the no lift shift function if you have a manual.
IMO the rev 2.5 special is the best deal. It doesn't vin lock and thus will hold it's resale value better than the rev 3. Both 2.5 and 3 use the same maps.

Rev3 = USB port, additional input/outputs for running No-Lift-Shift (NLS), methanol, and top-speed eliminator all at the same time along with other I/O capabilities
Rev2.5 = Serial port (requires native serial port on your computer or USB to serial adapter) and fewer I/O capabilities. I don't think you can run methanol, NLS, and top speed eliminator all at the same time. Rev 2.5 is more than enough for most all users who want to just run a tune. Rev 2.5 will still run the single turbo setup and methanol with no issues.

Yes. I just installed my 2.5SE this weekend. You'll love it. Just make sure you order the serial->usb cable ahead of time ... much cheaper than RadioShack.

Look in the vendor forums. Vishnu has a thread with their "Summer Go-Fast" special. It has all the info you need on the differences between the two. That's what convinced me to order my 2.5 last week. Should be here any day! Unless you are DEFINITELY running meth and care about going over 135mph at the same time on a regular basis, than the 2.5 is all you need IMHO.

I think the rev 2.5 is still on sale unlocked for like $450-500. Might want to check that out, I saw Shiv post it a few weeks back.
Just FYI, I ran full FBO 6AT with upgraded tiwns and Aquamist meth and the 2.5 fit my bill just right.

Rev3 allows for the following which rev2.5 does not:
-allows PWM meth AND speed delimit at same time -allows for NLS -allows for 2-step -allows USB connectivity -has more I/O channels for things like external wideband or secondary MAP So if you don't go for meth, save your money and buy a 2.5. If you want use meth later on you can resell this thing without buying a VIN license. I bougth one yesterday |
