COBB - Which map?

Sorry if this is a repost. I tried searching but I couldn't find much on it except for a whole bunch of FS on the COBB AP.

Just got my COBB AP today (thanks TGS!) and I'll be installing it tomorrow. I've already updated it with the latest beta maps. My car is completely stock as of now and I should be getting my BMS DCI in a few days. Which map should I run? Map 1 - Aggressive, Sport, Drive? Linear or Stock Throttle?

Thanks!

Haha, thanks. Guess it's Stock Throttle regardless of which map I choose.

Curious as to you not suggesting the Aggressive map though?

With aggressive you will need 93 octane + decent plugs and coils otherwise your car may misfire depending on the condition of your plugs&coils. Very common issue.

Start with drive & sport to determine how your motor reacts then bump it up

I'm running stage 1 sport with a linear throttle and I like it. Linear throttle is how the car should have come from BMW. The further I push the pedal the harder the car pulls.

You should be fine running the Stage 1 aggressive map, just log to make sure the car is happy. Post the graphs here if you have any questions or would like an opinion on it.

thanks. I just flashed my car to Stage 1 Aggressive - Stock Linear. Will try it out later. Sitting in my car for half an hour waiting for it to install at 93 degree weather wasn't exactly pleasant.

Before you post a thread with misfire codes just make sure you change your plugs soon lol, also pick up a pair of DCI's asap sounds much better and is probably the cheapest mod for few HP.

I got my Cobb AP today and started with Stage 1 Sport and upped it to Stage 1 Aggressive without any issues. (My car is mechanically completely stock)

Oddly, my vehicle doesn't run very well on the stage 1 sport map with 93 octane. It seems like it runs rich, and I get some smoke on launch. With stage 1 aggressive, I don't see that at all.

Thanks for the help guys! Tested out Stage 1 Aggressive (stock linear) for about twenty minutes today - didn't have anywhere to go and it was too hot for a joy ride. Felt a noticeable difference when I revved it up but I'll have to give it some more time.

Will keep you guys updated!

Lesson learned! Should've went back inside and enjoyed a nice cold beer or two while waiting for it to flash for the first time.

On the upside, changing maps took about a minute - was impressed about that.

The initial install takes ~20 mins. Switching from def version maps (like v301 Maps to v4 Beta Maps) takes ~5 mins, but just switching tunes on the same firmware should only take 1-2 mins. To give you an idea, I've flashed from Sport to Aggressive while getting gas pumped.
