So F1 fans...got Hamilton fever yet?
I started out this season rooting (naturally) for Kubica and Heidfeld but being a Brit (and having grown up a stone's throw from his home town) I'm jumping onto the Hamilton bandwagon. All aboard.
I just watch the knock-out qualifying for Silverstone and he took the pole on his final lap in Q3 after lighting laps by Alonso and Raikkonen. The guy is a phenom! In his rookie year (8 races so far) he has finished no lower than 3rd. This dude is going to be the motor sports equivalent of Tiger Woods. Hamiltonmania coming to a town near you! Should be a great race tomorrow.

It's pretty hard not to get behind a guy who has a great attitude, sick driving skills, seems to win every other race and actually enjoys the fans. I hope he wins tomorrow - the English fans will be delirious.

Americans F1 Fans? I doubt it.
I've just finished watching Q2 and Q3 at Silverstone. Loved to see Hamilton take the pole. He is quick and what I like the most is his humility. Maybe we need to run a poll to see how many real F1 Fans are in this forum, people who watch Saturday's Qualifying and Sunday's race every weekend. People who go to the races etc. F1 Rules. |

Moved to the US 19 years ago and haven't been to a race since but will probably do US GP next year (my buddy just bought an RV). Watch the qualifying and race every week despite the constant f#*king commercial breaks.

I live in Tampa and record or watch live every race. I have many friends who do the same. Granted, it isn't like watching Florida win back-to-back national championships in basketball with a national championship in football for good measure ... but it will do.

Hamilton is amazing but credit also has to be given to Mclaren for stepping it up.

Tiger Woods of the F1...
It's amazing how the media had proclaimed him a new F1 "Messiah" even before his first win in Montreal. There were a lot of doubters before Montreal who said he is not good because he couldn't win, but I like the fact that he has the big picture perspective in finishing every race. Instead of going gun-ho on the first corner and get burn.

Hamiltonmania -- amazing talent, appears to be on the way to a championship in his rookie season, and seems genuinely humble. How can you not get a little excited about that?

Loved to see more F1 fans on this forum. I used to follow Juan Pablo Montoya, I have been to every USGP since 2001 except this year for obvious reasons, also I went to the Spanish Grand Prix on 2005. I would love to see Monaco, Monza and actually every race in the calendar. My wife and I really enjoy every Saturday and Sunday morning. Now I also watch some Nascar since Juan Pablo is racing there.
As a BMW fan I am glad that they have come a long way and I think Kubica has a lot of potential. Enjoy the race and let's keep the British Grand Prix alive. |

I hate the fact that FOX is now showing the races. I use to wake up in the morning and watch them live on SPEED. Now i have to remind myself to not use the internet, otherwise i might see who wins like on ESPN or something.
