after market Navigation
Never had one before and looking into buying a Garmin c330.
What do most people use on their bimmers beside the OEM navigation system? I need something with voice directions Last edited by alanchan; 07-13-2007 at 03:27 PM.. |

Personally I like TomTom and I use it in 2 of my 3 vehicles. The 3rd one has factory NAV.

My wife uses telenav through her Blackberry 8800, its actually pretty good, the only crappy thing is if you get a call when using it.

i actually use the c330. its a great little package. there are more expensive systems which come with a lot of other functions (mp3 playback, bluetooth connectivity, traffic updates, etc) but if youre looking for a simple navi device with a ton of points of interest, you cant beat the c330, especially for the price you are paying for it, its a good bargain. the other one that i like is the garmin nuvi but its a little bit pricey because its newer.

Garmin is really good. You can get the c320/c330 for cheap or get a GPS with sirfIII chip which much better reception.
I was told the Garmin c320 is better than the c330 (even cheaper), it uses SD card vs harddrive which uses less power. |

I've used Garmin Nuvi 360.
It's really nice and thin. I especially liked the bluetooth handsfree feature. If you connect Nuvi 360 to your bluetooth cellphone, it's like you have "iPhone" with touch screen capabilities. You can even send txt msgs and let the machine read out txt msg for you when you receive the msg. If you are looking even better ones, go for Nuvi 660. It's got everything 360 has plus bigger screens, and you can use included FM transmitter to let the sound come through your car stereo speakers.

in june tom tom released the XL ONE, highly recommended si,ilar to the Garmin Nuvi series with 4.3 inch display. but $200-300 less canadian and you can enter multiple destinations. Garmin is nice but expensive and can have only one end destination. Paid $479 cdn i think they are $399 us.
