Logs of Cobb and RB Turbos combination ?

Hello,

I am interested in acquiring a set of RB turbos and as much as I like my GIAC tune, they don't have RB turbos support. So I thought about using Cobb.

Does anyone have some logs of this combination ? I am interested primarily in how the boost is handled. Does the actual boost follow the target boost closely ? How does the boost curve look ? What is the maximum sustained boost (not peak) and what is the boost at redline ? Are there different maps provided by Cobb (even in alpha form), like a more conservative map and a more aggressive map ?

I am only interested in something conservative with about 40whp gain over stock turbos if possible.

Thanks !

You're 6MT so you should be able to run COBB's RB maps. You can always customize the maps yourself or with a pro tuner if you would like.

Exactly that. I'm testing a number of pro-tuned maps from PTF right now, and although the testing is far from being finished, the car does feel quite good. You can also run the RBs with any of their OTS maps (i.e. stage 2), but customised pro tuned maps are obviously better.

Depending on how your wastegates are, the OTS maps will have massive throttle closure issues. At least mine do.

Thanks, I have contacted them, they have good prices right now but I still don't have any logs to look at

Does your car feel significantly faster than anything you experienced on stock turbos ?

Dzenno has logs of his RB setup running Cobb before he took the head off. Just search on the "other" Forum.

Yes, of course. Lots more shove, the torque has increased significantly over the whole rev band.

As I'm still in the tryout stage and get a new map more or less on a daily basis from Protuningfreaks, I haven't been on the dyno with the RBs yet. That will come in due course naturally. An additional delay will be that my car goes under the knife again next week to have the Alpina replica intake installed (with larger inlet pipes) and a different clutch (HPF stage 1) that I will have to break in first.

In any case, once I have interesting data I will share it.

You dont need logs dude, dzenno has plenty of records with the maps he manipulated together with cobbs on rbs, that should be enough. Mt cars maps have been long available , AT have been developped mostly with my help and now there are no issues as well.
