Clutch/flywheel
Does anyone know if the clutch and flywheel from a 320d 163bhp will fit a 318d 122bhp?
Basically the flywheel is in a poor state in my remapped 318d so i was thinking if i put in a solid flywheel and clutch for a 320d it would prolong the life of the flywheel as the 320d is of similar bhp to my mapped 318d. cheers Aaron |

That was what I was getting at. I thought you were thinking that they have a solid one as standard.
I wouldn't go for a solid flywheel - the vibrations you would get would be horrific I reckon. Even on the DMF's they're not 100% vibration free. Just get a new DMF, clutch and release bearing and you'll be fine. My 320d is remapped. I had my DMF clutch etc done just after and its been sweet ever since. I would imagine the extra torque may shave 10% off the life span, but unless you rag it constantly it can't be any worse than that. |
