rear tyre advice please

I've got Falken 452's all round at the moment. Looking to replace the rear tyres and trying to pick between these:

255/30

Kumho KU39 - £140
Falken 453 - £155
Toyo Proxes T1 Sport - £160

There's also AVON ZZ3 for £125 but these are 265/30 so don't know if these would be ok?

Any help appreciated.

Were you happy with the Falkens?

I've had Toyo tyres in the past and although grip levels are good, they don't last long.

I know lots of people that seem to be converted to Kuhmo tyres after trying them. I have read a few guys on here planning to try Kuhmo next time around based on M3 drivers liking them.

Kunho's will wear out quite quickly.

I run the ZZ3 on the rear of my 335i and I'm happy with them.

only just got the car so haven't really had a chance to test the tyres but they need replacing.

Sounds like kumho are more favoured than falkens by the sound of things then?

Kumho and Toyo both tried, seem to wear out quite quickly.

i think you'll find that falkens are popular because of their price. when I replaced all 4 of mine, I had a budget and the falkens were the compromise.
next time around, I wont be getting falkens, likely to try the vreds or go all out on a premium tire.

I thought the falkens were good, until I drove a car with michelins on it, different gear altogether.

Are there any other sizes that can be used other than 255/30 or 265/30?

Presume you're on 19" rims?

As 1 series don't come with 19s are yours standard 3 series width ie. 9Jx19 rear with standard offsets?

If so, best stick to 225/30/19 for the OE look, just a little stretch.

Vredestein.
I used them on my previous car. The best tyre so far. I got BMW with RFT and they are rubbish, next tyres I will fit on BMW will be Vredestein.

I have ran both zz3"and zz5 and cannot fault either. I have just put in an order for two zz3 265's and will have them fitted at the week end.

How about if I just put the Vredestein on the back and stayed with the falken's on the front...would that work ok or should I go with Vredestein all round?

What about goodyear eagle f1's? Kwik fit are doing 25% off all goodyear tyres.

I had the F1 A2's on my TTRS - 235/35/19 and they felt much better than the Michelin PS2 that were standard, plus they get good reviews in the 19" size range.

Im impressed with the Vreds on my 330D. Ive had Falkens in the past and I think the Vreds are better in the wet , which is important in the UK

M135i will come with Michelin pilot super sports.. Super sticky.

Otherwise I'll go with Goodyear F1s After good reviews.

My Falkens are nearly worn on the rear after less than 10k , grip has fallen significantly and they are noisy. Won't buy them again.

I noticed earlier today the odd jobs guy from the work has the best named tyres ever.

Olympic Javelin. Really.

I can see them spearing him off into a field somewhere.

Same here. I replaced the Falkens with Kumho KU39 and so far they seem equally as good. I don't drive hard TBF but they grip well in the wet and dry and they're nice and quiet.
