Procede and RB turbos

Hi,

I'm wondering if there will be a map for RB twin turbos in the near future. Yes, there is an aggressive map for upgraded twins but to be honest I'm not really impressed. The maps for stock turbos are great but I have a strong feeling that since the single turbo is out upgraded twins will not be supported anymore. And so far E85 is not supported for upgraded twins.

Furthermore, it would be nice, if Vishnu can offer special maps for stacking tunes as well. IMHO it would be great to handle fuel control via Cobb and
boost control + meth integration via Procede.

What do you guys think?

I would like to see some procede RB maps utilizing the new map sensor with upped boost. I think there is some room in there before 6k to run 23 psi...thoughts?

Some weeks ago Shiv said that upgraded twins won't benefit from upped boost beyond 20psi.

I agree but until that happens (if ever), you know you can change the boost profile (at 500 RPM increments) using the advanced settings, right? I would do this in conjunction with data logging but many have seen benefits beyond the standard maps by doing this.

+1
Fine tuning your tune to your car is the best thing you can do. You should talk to shiv about a map for YOUR car. You can also look into something like Cobb that can be dyno tuned for your car, I'm NOT dissing PROcede or anything like that but there other options that may suit your needs at this time.

Thank you guys. I just want to wait until the new E85 maps are out. On the basis of these maps I hope Shiv can fine tune my car.

A lot of people already do this, simply called "Stacking Tunes" & use the COBB for the base & then PROcede (or JB4) for boost + meth.

If you go to the other forum, there's an in-depth explanation of how to do this

+1 I'm really interested in how well the COBB will control the fuel because I'm making some really good numbers with e85 at 18 psi, but even with the Stg3 maps, I had to open up the OL tables a bunch to keep from maxing out the trims to include running lean... Virtual Dyno is showing 417 hp and 466 lbft using the Mustang Dyno. DynoJet 479 hp and 535 lbft.... Honestly, the butt dyno is telling me my car has never pulled harder from 3 to 5k, ever...

Hopefully the COBB guys at Surgeline will chime in, I live in Portland OR, so if any of the guys here wants to do some testing with stacking, shoot me a PM. I'm sure everyone else who owns a Procede and wants to run e85 would be interested in seeing how well this stacks up...

And not that there is anything wrong with flashing vs piggys (it's whatever works best for the user & helps them achieve their goals), but it does give you the ability to tune more in-depth. Shiv's come to terms that this was necessary for high HP on the single-turbo since the DME gets flashed specifically for fueling tables

If you need a higher fuel ceiling and higher rev limits, we can reflash your DME accordingly for $100. The higher DME boost targets combined with the PROcede OL Fuel adjustments gives it a much higher fuel ceiling than either approach alone. Same tuning approach used in our 700+hp single turbo kits. The RB turbos will run out of steam before your fuel system does.

Will the "standard" maps for RB Turbos still be revised/updated?

Sending in the ECU is not really an option for us overseas guys.

How should the maps be finetuned go get the most out of meth + e85 + bigger turbos? From the flash side or from the Procede side or both?

An alternative would be to directly use a flash, e.g. COBB.

Or use the JB4 for which Terry also offers an additional flash (using COBB) for fueling, the piggy is then mostly in charge of boost control.

Although dialing in boost with ATR isn't for the faint of heart, even a nub like me could figure it out. IMO, stacking isn't necessary other than for methanol safety purposes and CAN integration (gauges, code clearing).

Well you can either buy a COBB for a flash, or buy a PROcede & then send your DME in the mail to get flashed by Shiv/Vishnu. Terry supports a COBB base flash & then the JB4 ontop

If mailing a dme isn't feasible, one option is to wait a few months for another at-home solution. It should be more affordable/flexible that current at-home options. Regardless, next week I'll post up addresses for the tables that need to be altered for those running Cobb tunes. It will have to be up to the guys at Cobb to make these tables accessible via their tuning software.
