Meth Nozzle Leak?
Moved meth tank and pump to trunk. Nice improvement to meth flow and I actually get to use map 4!
After the drive, popped the hood and this is what I saw. Dark parts on the pipe are wet. Should I be concerned? Any putty I could use to seal the leak? Last edited by MrHeavyFoot; 08-06-2012 at 06:44 PM.. Reason: Reduced image size |

Prime the pump manually and see what is leaking. It's either:
-The line itself is cracked. -Line is not sitting in clean in the nozzle so you need to cut it straight and re-insert. -It's leaking at the threads which means you might want to use a little bit of teflon tape. |

Actually you may want to check the nozzles and ensure it's screwed in properly. In my case, one of the nozzles where a tad loose. I use a mix of boost juice so it stains when it leaks so i noticed pretty much right away. Tighten the nozzles on the jet adapter, all was good.

Does anyone think that the pattern of that wet area looks more like a blowby leak from the silicone hose behind the nozzles?
Sure way to know is if the area stays permanently damp/oily.......if it was meth it would evaporate fairly quickly and be dry in short order. Last edited by Ilma; 08-07-2012 at 12:40 AM.. |

Doesn't look like a meth leak to me. I have had a leak that sprayed meth all over my hood and never saw it until I replaced meth with 100% water and saw the water spots.

i agree with this and the above, pattern doesnt look right, and meth dries pretty quick , id pull the hoses, plug the ends and purge to see if it is even a meth leak, looks like its oily and coming from that elbow coupler

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions guys!
I'll go clean the area then drive hard and see what happens when meth sprays. I'm using 50-50 and hope I see something if I stop and check within a minute or two. I've tried priming the pump before, but leaks, if any, happen after the (fast-acting?) valve and that doesn't open until it gets instructions from the Procede I'm guessing. I'm also hoping it's not from over-tightening the nozzles! Already happened once when installed at the shop and I had to order two new nozzles from Robert. |

Cleaned the area, wiggled the pipe and tightened it some. It's been almost a week and the area is still clean. No leaking nozzles Thanks for the help guys! |
