Is there a minimum of 1000 miles indicated to next service?

Hi All,

My rear pads have said they have a 1000 miles left for some time now. However, up until recently, the car was not prompting me visit the garage when I turned it on.

However, it is now is telling me to book the car in, but the range is still showing 1000 miles.

Is 1000 as low as it goes, or can I wait longer to get the work done when the range gets to 50 miles for example? The car doesn't do that many miles so a 1000 miles is enough to last me for a fair few weeks to come.

Thanks!

Has something else maybe triggered the service call?

Maybe a time dependant item like 'vehicle check' or brake fluid?

Mine went down from1200 to 900, 900 to 650 and later 300.
I got rears changed at 300 and there was still some material left on them.

I was wondering the same as my oil service seems to have been sat at 1000 for a week or so (admittedly I haven't done too many miles though). So will keep an eye on it.

Another thing, can anyone explain why the spark plugs aren't shown under the service requirements of my 335i? The missus' 118i has this

Or are these just changed at say 60,000 and are not part of the conditional servicing?

Good point, I'll check that, but don't think so.

OK, so it should go lower than 1000 miles. In that case, if it is the brakes causing the bong, I'll wait longer. I've actually driven from London to Cornwall and back, plus 5 weeks of normal driving and it's stayed at 1000 miles.

I guess I don't use the brakes much!

Cheers all.

Garage List
I'm sure mine went right down?

It based on fuel consumption rather than actual miles covered.
