Varible valve timmer - E90 318 2005 HELP!!
Ran into a major problem this week with my BMW, Had a error code come up was told variable valve timer has errors and should be changed but can be driven under low power, but after 2 days and about 40miles the error came up again and the car just stalled and now wont turn over again. So its been put into the garage for the variable valve timer to be replaced, but as it aint starting up again what are the chances that the timing chain has jumped and has bent the valves??
can any one help??? |

More likely the timing chain has broken - it's only a simplex on that engine.
