Problems with LCI LED indicators?

Driving home last night, when I indicate right the bulb warning comes up on the dash and the indicators go at double speed. Looking at the car when I got home I found the rear right hand indicator is really flickering -looks like a strobe light not an indicator!

The car is just out of warranty, of course, so before I start a nightmare with BMW, does anyone have any experience of this. Googling it I found some references to it being a fairly common problem in the US and something about a service bulletin being issued about it, but couldn't find anything about it in UK (but I may be rubbish at searching!).

Any ideas?

Thanks

Change that bulb and it should resolve your issue.

They are the LCI LED indicators, so there isn't a bulb as such - can you replace the LED element?

Problems with LCI LED indicators? Is the LCI LED still a changeable bulb or part of a LED cluster circuit board ?

It's a sealed unit; a new light cluster is required.

Ouch, I'm guessing that isn't going to be cheap...

Slightly off topic I know.

The specialist garage opposite my office had a DB9 in the other week. Chatting to the mechanic he had just replaced a headlight unit because the LED DRL had a few LEDs out £700 He said the chap was only in 3 months ago having the other side done.
