Seven years have gone by since Katrina hit New Orleans. If New Orleans hasn't learned anything since then and is not prepared for another hurricane, sorry, but maybe Isaac should flatten it to the ground.

Lets hope he doesn't sit in the gulf and build strength. As of now it should make land fall just barely a Cat 1. Hopefully it'll stay that way or weaken.

Pretty much done with it down here in South Florida. Just the usual heavy rain and some strong gusts, nothing too major. Rains here are gonna continue until tomorrow.
Good luck and stay safe! I hear it might go into NOLA as a Category 2. That's what the 11PM report said atleast. |

When the projections first came out they had Isaac going directly over Tampa so I picked up tons of shit early. Now it's going west so I'll only be getting the outer bands from the looks of it. Even if the initial projections stayed true, I wouldn't be going anywhere. I'd put the car in the airport parking garage (no garage for all the cars ) and ride it out at home.

with that said, if i lived under sea level, you bet your ass id be the first one out. just be safe. don't be stupid. being stupid in a storm gets you killed. i had to drain my pool three times yesterday. each of the 3 times i worried about getting smashed on the head by a palm frond. its difficult handing things as they occur. |

i went through andrew which was a direct hit. i remember that shit like it was yesterday. my whole point was the below ground thing. its unfortunate because so many people live there, refuse to leave, and face risk of danger. you know just as well as i do that a TS/cat 1/2 will do more damage than a stronger storm because of the rain and subsequent flooding. |
