applied for a job, got a rejection notice, noticed an error
So I applied for a job via internal referral. A week later, I received a rejection notice that I did not fit with the job requirements. I customized my cover letter and resume to fit the job description and I certainly qualified for the minimum requirements. Then I noticed the rejection email mentioned a slightly different job title. Luckily both jobs (the one I submitted for, and the rejected position) were still active on the website. The names were very similar but one was a "lead" position requiring an engineering background and the one I wanted was a similarily titled position with a "finance" background.
Luckily the rejection notice was a personal email, I inquired regarding a potential mix up. They acknowledged and said it'll be put back on the proper review track for the correct position. Lesson learned: there's only 1 person that will look out for your self interest, and that's you. |

it was an internal referral, so i give that person my cover letter and resume and link to job. She submits to HR. Either she submitted incorrectly, or HR handled it incorrectly.
Anyways, I'm back in the mix. I just hope I didn't loose my "referral credits". |
