you probably went too lean and triggered safe mode (map 1) with a 60% E85 content. Do you have the JB4 interface? If so, can you plug it into your car right now as it sits and go into "advance" tab settings and see where your OL is set at?

Well.. this is what I did. I ran down the tank that had 92 to about 12.7 gallons. Then filled up 3.3 gallons of E85, drove around a bit, then filled up another 2 gallons after about 30-40 miles. So overall about 5/6 gallons on a 15 gallon tank (it's a Z4)

I'm at work, but I will check definitely.
technically, i'm thinking I'm at about 35%.. no more.

Did the SES lights blink on and off? Did you get a 1/2 engine light?

Cool

The first event.... going to stock boost was probably due to hitting the over
boost safety. Raise it up 0.5 to 1.0 psi.

Do some day/night logs and post them for help on boost problem.

Oh I noticed my blinkers flash twice every now and then. No idea what that means.

No SES or CEL turned on. Just probably the boost safety it seems. The car is responding absolutely amazing to E85. First time I mixed in about 20%.. and the car instantly just was a monster.

Cool

Means your running leaner than expected. Looks like you got on it too
hard too quickly. Does not happen now because it has adapted.

Read the info on n54tech.com about your tune.

If he's on default settings it most certainly does NOT mean that.

Chipped, you were just driving around and it went back to stock mode? Were there any check engine lights or anything? If this happens, the JB4 will go to map 4 which is stock boost, but CAN features and logging still active. If not, there is a failsafe where the JB4 shuts down if it erroneously detects what it thinks is an internal fault. My car has done it once. The fuel gauge stopped acting like a boost gauge and it went back to stock boost. Had to totally turn the car off and restart to get the JB4 back.

Also, the double flash blinkers are the "shift light." It should happen at 6500 rpm. Go see if that's the case.

Well I was just driving around randomly. I happened to see them blink twice, and I wasn't on it at all. Just cruising around.

Secondly; it kept the boost guage and all that, it was just running less boost. Everything was the same, except less boost? Maybe I ran out of mixed E85? LOL.

Do you have the most recent updated JB4 firmware?? It's possible that you're not up to date & that your JB4 doesn't even support the E85 blend you're using.

If you do, try to run through a full tank of pump gas & then make a low blend E85 (try 20% first, so only 3 gals of E85 to a full tank). After 10 mins the E85 will fully blend with the pump gas, at that point the tune should've also AutoTuned. Get some pulls in & data log it, the logs will illustrate what's going on.

I see the problem! It blinks twice to notify I'm too hot. After it goes over 250, built in safety right? That's why the lack of power I'm sure. Ill let it cool off but not turn it off and see.

why are you going over 250F on public roads? I rarely get above 230F doing a couple WOT runs.

After the cool down that is. First two gears run more boost. Then third hits, back to 10.

+1 on maxing trims.

OP, go down to a 33% ethanol mix or lower and see how the car reacts. more ethanol does not always mean more power.

Hey buddy, you don't need more than 30% to run very aggressive timing... beyond that it's diminished returns.

Have to agree with this, my logs of 50/50, 40/60 & 30/70 had all the same boost, timing. After going 50/50 for 2 weeks I started getting Lean codes....I fill up with 93 run it out and went back to E85 and no codes with a 35% mix...went to 40% and no codes. I am sticking o a 35% mix for now on.

If you're running that much E-85 I'd go map 2 and see if that helps. It pulls SO much harder so be prepared

I raced my buddies B5 S4 tonight that's pushing around 430 AWHP and he smoked me after 100 from a 60 roll when I was running map 5. I changed to map 2 and we were dead even from a 40 roll till about 130 then he pulled about two cars. I'm only running JB4, DCI and E-85. Map 5 has been giving me problems lately as well so I'm kind of over the AUTO TUNE map, especially when map 2 is faster. Yeah yeah I know people say don't run map 2 w/o DP's but whatever cause Terry has even told me it's fine as long as your octane is high enough and I have BMS's new DP's sitting right next to me waiting for install anyways.

The double blinker flash means that the engine oil has reached 160F. The JB4 runs stock boost until the oil is at operating temp.
