when would you get a oil change?

My 335i oil level was 100 percent 3 months ago, checked it right now and it's at 50 percent. I was just wondering, when would you suggest I go for a oil change? should i wait until it reaches around 25 percent, or do i need to do it now?

Wouldn't you want to add oil? The filter may not need to be changed, but seems like you'd want to get the level up.

If this is a serious question, and not a troll...first of all READ YOUR OWNER'S MANUALS cover to cover.

But right now, if your oil indicator shows 50%, add 1/2 quart of oil. The entire 100 to 0 range is only one quart wide! Since we have no dipsticks (in our cars, anyway), the sensor reading is the only way to know when you need to add oil.

For oil CHANGES, the car computer will tell you. Depending on your driving habits, it will call for a change of oil and filter at least once a year, or 15K miles +/-. Many of us think the mileage based schedule is biased in BMW's favor (since they include maintenance for the warranty period) and change the oil more frequently. I do mine once in between factory cycles.

READ THE MANUALS!

If you care about your car

If you care about your car and you want to keep it long term.
You will keep track of your mileage and change it about every 7500 miles
or once a year.
There have been many threads on maintenance here and most
that want long term ownership will do something like the Mike Miller
old school maintenance schedule. This also means changing out the lifetime
fluids on whats more like a normal schedule for any car.
The free maintenance schedule is a basically a marketing vehicle that leaves
BMW with no liability after 100k since they have marked that as the lifetime
of the vehicle. If these or any cars are properly cared for they will last way longer than that.

To get the old school maintenance schedule google Mike Miller BMW
Also you entitled to a yearly oil change regardless of Miles driven or what
the computer says if you are in the initial warranty. Some dealerships
are kind of nebulous about this but it is your right.

Do u mean 50% of interval between changes? How many miles since last oil change and with which oil?

You don't change oil based on how much you have left, I hope you know that. Add some oil now, and change every 7,000.

Or - since the OP seems to lack some basic car ownership knowledge, he (or she) might consider taking it in to his dealer (assuming it's still under warranty and maintenance coverage) to have the oil topped off. And while there, hopefully he can persuade the service dept. to explain BMW maintenance.
