Thats kinda empty...Possibly a slow leak. Notice any under your car?
Id maybe fill it up with Distilled water and check for a leak before you go about buyin the antifreeze and just having it leak out again. Be sure to mix the antifreeze with distilled water when you know there is no leak

the bottom ball on the red dipstick should be level with the neck of the bowl. That looks empty, but the picture being from the wrong angle is hard to decipher.
Don't run the car without adding coolant first (or distilled water, as said before, will work well enough for a short period in summer). Check for white smoke (bad) or traces of coolant leaks (should leave whitish residue at places where it had leaked). The plastic pan would capture most leaks and prevent you from seeing spots on the floor at the car parking spot. Depending on mileage, you will be due for thermostat/water pump soon, and the coolant loss may be a sign that the pump is already failing, especially if you do have traces of leaks around the coolant expansion bowl. Changing the pump requires changing coolant anyway, so it may be a good idea to have it checked. |

The RED needle is an indicator of your level. If the top of the needle is below the lip you need to add. There are instructions on the cap, tank, and of course the manual if you need a bit more guidance.
You are low. Add BMW coolant, or temporarily add distilled water. |

thank you all for the reply, I added 1 liter of BMW coolant, and the light is not light up anymore. I do notice when I turn my cap before, it was loose and the click arrow wasn't in the right spot, I have a feeling some guy check it before and didn't turn it back all the way until it clicks. so its a slow leak.
also wanted to update this is the sign of water pump/ thermostat is going. I replace both this month since I been getting over heat light when ever I turn on the heat. after replacement everything is good.
