Dinan exhaust
So I saw dinan just posted up their exhaust. Its out late Aug. Anyone getting it? I know there are a few exhausts out there already and I've been a huge fan of Borla, but don't want to cause to much trouble with the dealer. I have no other plans for the car, maybe springs/sway bars and thats it.
Anyway worth going with Dinan for an exhaust?

DINAN
Free Flow Dual Exhaust Engine Tuning Part #: Price: D660-0011 $1899.00 Labor Hours: 1.4 Emission Status: 50 State Emission Legal Peak Horsepower Gain: 6 @ 6600 rpm Peak Torque Gain: 5 lb-ft @ 6600 rpm Point Value: 3 ...6HP / 5 lb.-ft. TQ for $1,899 + labor???? Don't think it's worth it, imho. There are many other aftermarket exhausts for the 335i that make much more HP/TQ for less $$ (most are making ~ +15-20WHP/TQ and cost ~ $1,400-$1,700). btw -- even my BMW SA said Dinan is fading away.

Post up a link for the rest of us!
I haven't picked an exhaust yet, so it's something to consider. It being Dinan won't have any effect on my decision. Warranty/Smarranty when it comes to exhaust. For me, it's all about design, gains, and sound. Edit: after seeing gator's post... blahh, those gains are horrible

no its for the 335... its written on it. Gains aren't huge. I'm aware, i've been tuning cars for awhile. I would rather go Borla, however Dinan is still more acceptable than others. I can talk to my dealer see what they think of me just touching the exhaust.

they cant shit.. They just told me u just waived your warranty on the exhaust.. im like ok dude watever... first all .. anything that come out from the exhaust is safe to modify. You can save all of your oem part in case you want to sell it or smog check on it.. Exhaust system is ok to modify.. they said it got nice tone to it.. im like thanks dude.

I'm sorry, but Dinan sucks. It so overpriced. They need to come back to reality and post some decent prices. Also, there are a few exhausts out there that cost less and make more power.
Dinan

all these other companies that claim more power, thats all it is is a claim, where are there dyno sheets??? at least dinan provides dynos and if you dyno yours and don't come within the same or very close dinan will refund your money. i highly doubt any of these companies claiming 10 plus hp on cat back systems are even close to that
in reality people who are looking for power from a muffler system need to look elsewhere it just isn't gonna happen. mufflers are for sound and looks and if you get some power and weight savings then it is a plus |

I don't think BMW's line will be any better than that of Dinan. For sure the other exhausts out there are better. Its what can fly with dealers.
If I wanted 100% performance, a race car, I wouldn't have sold my car for the BMW.

common misconception. when installing DINAN products DINAN takes over warranty reponsibility, taking BMW out of the equation. BMW is no longer responsible. If there is a problem with the new part, you have to argue with DINAN... and they seem to not always be willing to accept responsibility.

Dinan likely have lower gains than others for a reason... for example, sound or reduced drone or rasp. Dinan tries to make OEM quality parts so this is likely the reason. Anyway, the way I read the post above, it looked like was 1899 for software and exhaust. That's not so bad.

1899 for just the mufflers!
That's just ridiculous!
