It means that the officer gave you a discount. Just pay the $18.75, be grateful, and don't make any more illegal turns

Probably since it's a moving violation, but since you said that it is your first ticket it probably won't affect insurance. Maybe some Ontarians can chime in since this is province specific.

Small fine but possibilty of high insurance rate hike. The chart seems to say 2 points for prohibited turns. I would fight this ticket since your insurance rate will go nuts with this.

if you are still a "N" driver, i think you get to have your first ticket waived... but tat was like 3 years ago and i'm not sure if it still applies
anyhow, you did get a major discount: don't bother disputing! |

Check with your insurance agent to see if this ticket will affect your rates. If it will, fight the ticket like it will be your last days!!!

Traffic school...the ticket will not show up on your record. It will be as if you have never gotten it. There are plenty online you can do.
maybe the laws are different for you though than they are for here in california

Request a court date anyway. At the very least, it would push any conviction back for 3months or more depending on how backlogged the system is.
And then you'd get the possibility the cop won't show up. Failing that, they might throw it out altogether because it's too small for them to bother. |

Are laws different in Canada. can you not erase 1 ticket every 18 months with traffic school?

No such thing as a traffic school here. Just tax collectors and insurance crooks lurking around.

I've had two speeding tx over the past 5 years and I went to the local court with both to reduce the fine and cancel the demerit points. Cost about $40 each, no demerits, plus my time. I didn't challenge the validity of the ticket. In neither case was my insurance affected. Perhaps it will if you call up your agent to ask..... Perhaps if I changed company, the new one would look up my record but in staying with the same one, there's been no effect.

That would be BC vs Ontario.
