Here is a good one...regarding track event registration...
The Audi club is having their national event at Infineon Raceway in October...2 day event. I sign up online this past weekend..and get an email saying that I need to send my paypal money quickly if I want to make sure I get a garage. The email then goes on to tell me that this is their national event..and that it is not open to non-Audis until after September 1st...(A little background here..I have been a member of the Quattro Club/ACNA since July 1997...participating in over 50 ACNA 2-day events during that 10 year period..I have driven an Audi ..or my Spec Miata ..or both...at all events until one earlier this year...when I drove the 335i at Reno/Fernley raceway). So, they are essentially telling a 10-year member of the club ..a senior instructor...that I potentially cannot attend the event since I will be driving a BMW. Nice huh? The sponsors might be upset. [heavy sigh]

seems like they ought to work something out for you
good instructors are always a good thing to have, I can't imagine they'd turn you away if you were "working" the event if you're just going as a participant, I understand the policy, but if you're helping them out with teaching they're crazy to not let you go free of charge |

Yeah..I checked with one of the board of directors..(also the eventmaster of the event...I think) before I registered..and he said instructors dont apply to this rule..but then the controller..who got my registration stated that new rule...and he cc'd the eventmaster on his response to me. Lets see what they say...nothing like scaring away senior instructors to other clubs. They have hard enough time getting qualified instructors in the ACNA in many regions.

The controller backed off on his requirement after hearing that I got prior approval from the eventmaster.
