Electric cooler/carrier?
Did a search and couldn't find if anyone has seen, bought, or had any experience with the electric cooler from BMW. Part # is 82 29 9 415 579. Pricey at $185.00 and I don't know if also has the ability to keep things warm. My daughter spends a lot of time driving from one client to another all day long and I thought it might be a nice Birthday present and make her day more pleasant. Thanks

I have one. Nice looking and nicely made. Shaped so that it will fit on the floor of the back seat.http://www.igloo-store.com/index.asp
Got it from Davis Automotive Group in Cleveland. (kipg@davisautomotive.com) I had a similar unit from igloo that I used in my Lexus. http://www.igloo-store.com/product_d...R=thermotravel The Igloo unit would heat or cool depending on which way the power plug was inserted into the unit. I don't think the BMW unit has that feature (the directions are in German). The BMW unit is tall enough to fit wine bottles standing up, The igloo that I had (they make a variety of models) could not. The BMW unit is hard plastic covered by thermal insulation which is in turned covered by gray and black plastic. It has a shoulder strap, a couple of external zipper pouches and looks like a pice of luggage. The igloo looks like a cooler. The BMW unit comes with a 12V cigarette lighter plug. There is no ptovision for pluging it in in the house, Igloo makes n AC/DC converter (item #1674 $56.99) that works will work with the BMW cooler. This is useful if you want to use the BMW cooler indoors - such as in a hotel room) |

I paid $148.00 for the BMW cooler. An igloo will run from between $80.00 and $120.00. I found the BMW unit to be worth the extra money.

Thanks for the leads. I found this site www.compactappliance.com and bought a Rubbermaid 9 Liter Travel Cooler/Freezer/Warmer along with a battery saver thingy. I may still pick up the BMW version for myself.
