BMS OCC owners, caught any oil yet?
Are ur bms occ catchin any oil? If so how much? I installed the occ at arnd 8000km, now I'm at 18000km, gone through 1 oil change, n the occ is clean, dry, zero oil inside, nada... I'm not sure if my engines not burning any oil, or if the occ is not catchin any... Any owners can chime in?

I've had mine on for about 15k miles and only have a light film on the inside but, from what I've read, its just because i don't drive my car hard enough. guess we will find out when i upgrade my turbos

Interested as well. The more I read about OCCs the more I'm leaning towards saving my $200 and putting that money elsewhere.

I just posted on another forum talking about this. Terry showing his OCC with RB Turbos and had quite a bit of oil in the can. But it appears with more aggressive tuning and driving you catch more oil (more blow by affect). BTW the OCC is on sale right now.

I have had a BSH on my car for about 1000 miles (installed it new). Last time I checked it, just the very tip of the dipstick had a drop of oil on it. Not sure if it is just barely touching the oil in the can, or if the oil gathered on the dipstick.
But I do know that the line that you insert the OCC into (the one PCV inlet to the outlet) had enough oil in it that it dripped out when I installed the OCC. Not a lot, but enough that it dripped regularly when the tube was held vertically. Enough that I wouldn't want to see it make it through the IC and baked onto hot engine parts further down the line. FWIW, I am running Cobb Stage 1 aggressive, and never have had to add oil between oil changes (lucky with good seals/tight tolerances, I guess).

I have a cheap ass Riss racing can and the 3 times I cleaned it out there was about 1/4 inch of a solo party cup bottom of oil captured. You guys don't drive your car hard enough. Granny driving the catch can will not capture oil

I accumulated enough to cover the bottom of the OCC, but not much more. I also only had to add 1quart in 1 year, so I'm not consuming any more than "normal" for the n54.

Stupid question but how does an OCC prevent oil from getting on an intercooler if it captures oil after air passes through the intercooler?

This article is a pretty well-written explanation.

After 2 months of driving mine is about 1/4 full. I do mostly spirited driving.

It really depends on how much boost you have, and how tight everything is. Having less blow-by is not a bad thing unless you have a clog in the PCV (very very unlikely).
I had about a teaspoon full in my BMS OCC after about 3 months of driving (2 drag strip runs, 1 time at the track, and multiple spirited mountain drives). |

i consider myself pretty hard on the car, prob 70/30 drive it like u stole it/granny driving, my car has gone through a quart of oil before the first oil change so the oil must've gone somewhere? the pipes were coated in oil when i removed them to install the OCC
