A4 owners?
I'm looking at a 2011 2.0T A4 quattro with 26K miles. It's a premium plus with almost every other option. Asking is $30K but I'll get this dealer down a few $$$K I know.
I don't know much about Audi's other than so many on here over the years saying they have a lot of problems. Current owners and/or previous owners, can you tell me your experience? I was going to go over to the Audi boards but I'm too damn lazy. Plus I assume there are quite a few owners on here.

I have had an S4 for 4000 miles, so far so good.
I have a friend with an '05 A4, 107,000 miles. The only problem he as had has been window regulators 3 of them, and that is all (automatic trans if that matters). |

I DD a 2006 A4 2.0T Quattro avant for 7 years with 77.8k miles now. It's automatic with stage 2 mods and coilovers for over 5 years. This car is seen on track twice a year and no mechanical nor electronic issues.
Audizine.com is a great board to start.

I had a 2000, and 2002 1.8T with a K04 turbo upgrade, and all the supporting mods. It had over 100k miles on it when I sold it. I had virtually no problems with that car, and it was one of my favorites to this day.

Had a 2006 B7 A4 2.0t, car was a mechanical disaster. Pretty much drove around with spare coil packs in anticipation of them blowing at any time (had one go every 5-7k from about 36k onto when I just got completely frustrated with the nonsense and got rid of it at 100k). It was easily the most unreliable car I've ever owned. That car was truly awful from a reliability standpoint, I had to get towed off the Jersey turnpike on 4 separate occasions (and I don't live in Jersey!)
I now have an S5 and, while nowhere near as bad as the 2.0t, it's still the second most problematic car I've owned. I don't think I'll be shopping for another Audi in the near future, though sadly I like them more than comparable BMWs or Mercs right now so you never know.

Damn one extreme compared to the other. was it it only coil packs?
I've been reading up a little and they sure seem like they're reliable. I have heard a few on here say they're pretty bad....

the 2.0T burns alot of oil, but they say its normal. I used to have an a3 2.0T, it would burn alot of oil if i drove it hard during cold weather. Aside from that, the engine is a blast to drive. Especially with a Tune.

You can look search for any of these problems on Audizine, none of them are even remotely rare. In fact I'd go as far as to say the coil pack problem is more rare to not exist than to exist. There was even a recall, but it did not fix the problem. The cam follower is also pretty common as are the dipped headlights. Now keep in mind these problems were on the B7, they might have all been addressed on the B8, I have no idea. Oh and one final thing... the 2.0t has a carbon deposit problem that makes the N54 look like nothing.

Owned an '08 B7 (S-Line + Sport), had a '12 B8 (Premium) for 5 months. Both quattro.
My recommendation would be to only get one if you're getting sport package (for the better seats and sport suspension). S-Line in the B8's make them even better. Otherwise, the car feels very numb and unresponsive - nothing like your 335. They are pretty cars though... Oil burning wasn't much of an issue for me.

Damn...well I guess I'm taking my chances like with any car. If it ends up having all those problems...the wife will kill me for making her get rid of her benz.
This car has the sport seats and the three spoke steering wheel. It's at a Chevy dealership so they don't know anything about the car. I called an Audi dealer and they ran the VIN. It's a premium plus with a LOT of additional (optional) options that come with the prestige. But what the dealer sent me (a copy and paste, not an attachment) doesn't show the sports package. This person built this car with almost everything but left out that package? Odd..... I'm someone who wants EVERY option on a car. But it's more for the wife and I'm concerned about having a car that gets decent gas mileage and is still fun to drive. And I'm so addicted to German, lol. We've looked at damn near everything out there (she doesn't like BMW...don't know why)...and this car seemed like a good deal. They don't really budge on the price...but KBB says $35,5....so I think it's a good deal as long as it's in good shape.

Audi S4
Hey just thought I'd respond. I have had a B7 A4 and currently have a B6 S4. I personally like my S4 better than my previous e46 M3. As far as maintenance goes the S4 and A4 were basic maintenance with an occasional sensor going out on the A4. The coilpacks were replaced under warranty through Audi. They require prem gas and synthetic oil; good luck with your purchase!

I have a 2001 A4 1.8TQ & had it for 6 or 7 years. It now has 153,125 miles and running like a fine swiss watch. I use Mobile 1 0W-40 and change it 2 or 3 times a year myself. Car all stock, been on track 3 times. I have spent some money on it but not unreasonable.
2007 (car 7 years old) $619 all maintenance & repairs 2008 $1213 (incl new tires) 2009 $1171 2010 $2469 (steering rack $1382) 2011 $2645 (new tires, oil pan [my mistake]) 2012 $300 so far this year $30K for that car is pretty good I think; trade it after about 6 or 7 years. Some of my problems may be due to cold salty winters |

memory seat buttons are on the drivers side door panel.. below the window sill but above the power window switches.
Yes, Premium fuel. Other things to watch out for: Vibration at high speed - caused by unbalanced tires, wheels, or the control arms (supposedly a first model year MY2009 problem but members were complaining about this through MY2011) Vibration felt through the steering wheel when turning (ie parking lot) - I believe the fix was related to power steering hoses there is also a fix available to replace the flat edge sun roof deflector for a tooth/combed one (like in the E90) to eliminate the buffeting when the sunroof is open. Oh, and get APR ECU tune! |

Thanks...
Great....I HATE vibration more than anything. That's the one thing I'm worried about. I'm driving up there this weekend. I haven't even driven it yet....or seen it in person for that matter...

good lord, that's a sweet car!!! Those wheels... and titanium package
That exact configuration was what I was looking for in a replacement before I got my 335. How much you paid for it if you don't mind me asking? Even at $30k that was a steal!!! Audi knows how to do it right with their sport lines.
