335i vs. Dodge Charger RT
So I was going home with a couple of friends last night, coming from Long Beach and bumped into a Dodge Charger RT reving high right before catching the 710 freeway, couldn't help it, had to give it a try.. has anybody raced one of those? The guy wouldn't let me move next to him and kept on blocking me from going forward but I felt i had control all the way? any experiences with these before?

raced an R/T with 2 people + me in my car and smoked his ass in my 330i.....those are slow its the SRTs u need to worry about... and just a side note i raced my friend who has a e92 335i 6 m/t with 4 people including him self and i was by my self in my car, he smoked me pretty bad.. so just imagine how much faster ur 335i is than that R/T

The Hemi Charger/300C have done 0-60 in the high 5's and 1/4 in low 14's @ 99-100 mph
I don't think a 330i will "smoke" one, especially with 2 other people in the car. He wasn't trying if you did, as I don't think the 330i is any faster than that with just a driver. OK, now for the 335i, well, clearly with a 1/4 time of 13.3-13.4 @ 105-106 a stock 335i will outrun the Charger/300C Hemi V8 |

I've messed around with 2 SRT-8's. Those are the beast.
I would never consider one though. I doubt the handling is on par with BMW's and I hate how big it looks.

There are the 5.7 L 340hp/390tq Hemi's which are quite common, and then there are the 6.1L 425hp/420tq SRT8 Hemi's with functional cold air hood scoop.
The regular Hemi's aren't that quick; the SRT8 based models are about as quick as a stock 335i. They have a ton of power, but they also weigh a over 2 tons- nearly 4200 lbs. A Procede 335i should smoke it if the other owner hasn't done any tweaking themselves. |

i raced one on the freeway with my G35. i thought i can take him until he decided to end the race .
but i have to say when you go around 100 mph you can come back somewhat due to aerodynamics. if i had a 335 coupe i'd try to push him beyond 120 mph. now, be safe and dont do it on the street. |

well i drove a rental Chrysler 300. Base engine and probably regular tires the traction control couldn't really hold the car when you boot it. They were supposed to have based the suspension off an E-class but man, it just handled terribly.

It was the base model I rented so I shouldn't expect much but that thing was embarassingly under-powered for a car that big. I know the SRT version is much better but this thing was just horrible. |

No wonder why he wouldn't let me pass him!!! once we got out of the freeway i asked him to do a run in a 1/4 mile and he said he had too many people, 4, i had 3.... so he just said but your car is pretty fast, after giving me the "I have a Hemi" look 10 min. before!!

I think the 5.6 is with SUPER AGRESSIVE pro driver with a massibe clutch dump (if manual trans) and with the OP's driving probably being more in the 6 second range I highly DOUBT he "SMOKED" the charger r/t...
It's just annoying to read the I smoked "xxx" threads because you didnt know the other driver's intentions.... if the two of you went to a 1/4 mile track it would have been a different story...which would have read like this I tied a 30k dodge with my 40+k bmw sedan... doesnt have the same ring to it does it.. Thats why I hate these posts...

maybe you are a super agressive driver....maybe you arent... maybe you are as good as a pro driver with years of race experience...maybe you arent.. but to say you "smoked" a car with similar 0-60 states makes no sense.... now if you said you played around with him and pulled on him etc etc thats one story...but lets get read the e90 isnt an enzo
