Gauging interest for photoshoot of E9x's in the San Fernando Valley
Final plan...We will meeet at this location at 3PM, myself and a few other members will be there by 2:30PM to wait for others to arrive. Come hungry! We are going to eat at Friday's before we venture off to the spots to take pictures Here is the address for Friday's...
Tgi Friday's 19855 Rinaldi St Porter Ranch, CA 91326 And yes, it's this Sunday at 3PM. ~Also member BMWCali wants to go on a canyon run after we eat. It is about an hour course round trip....I guess we will have a vote to see if that is a go or not. I can go either way, but I want to know what most of the attendees want to do. his map can be seen on page 5 of this thread *EDIT: My plan with pix are below. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.* Member Fibercus and myself were just talking about having a big shoot of all the cars in the area. It is a short notice, as we are aiming at hosting the meet in exactly 1 week..(Sunday the 19th). The agenda would be to meet up, talk car, go get food and drinks, and do the shoot. I'm hoping to do the shoot in the late afternoon so the sun doesn't become our enemy. After we are done..we can do whatever else the folks like..catch a movie, go for a drive, or go home if you guys are tired, lol. Honestly I'm not looking for a big turn out at all..as this is on a very short notice, and I don't think there are many members in the 818. I'd be happy if we get 10 members. I know several spots that we can shoot at. I will go around later today and tae pictures of said spots and post them up for you guys to get an idea. Also I have to throw this in...this is designed to be a chill hang out meet, so we will not tolerate any rice behavior at all, ie no revving, no racing, etc. Last edited by wj4; 08-18-2007 at 12:08 AM.. |

Me personally am thinking of the Porter Ranch/Chatsworth area.
I know of a dead end where we can park at on top of Porter Ranch, and there is another spot that over looks down on the valley on the other side. There are several industrial settings in Chatsworth. I was thinking of meeting up at the plaza on Porter Ranch by Best buy then we can drive from there. There is also a movie theatre in the same area in case you guys want to do that afterwards. Any and all ideas are welcomed, this is what I came up with because I'm in these areas a lot. |

After I finish my errands today, I will go stop by and snap some pictures with my cell phone to give you guys an idea.
The reason I propose these places is that I don't want to do the parking lot background that is so typical. |

Here is where I want us to meet up..really bad picture here but the plaza is big. Some places to eat here includes In N Out, Islands, Fridays.
Then we go up about a mile or so... Here is a long stretch of road...I mean LONGGG. I was able to bed in my brake pads here, doing 60-10mph stops 10 times before I ran out of road. We can do rolling shots here. At the end of the road is a cul-de-sac where we can line up or whatever and take some more pictures... Then we go down the street and turn and go up the hills and park here to take some more pictures... |

I didn't bother going to the places with industrial settings as I have pictures already.
Places like these are about 2 miles away in Chatsworth. If you guys want a night shoot, we can go to CSUN and take pix too. It's empty up there at night, that's where we take my friends to learn stick shift. Pix here... http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=471141 |

^All of those pictures were taken in Porter Ranch, located on the east side of the San Fernando Valley. And no hard feelings,
Best of luck to your meet, just a bit too much driving for my taste. |

Also what time do you guys want to meet up? I'm thinking around 2PM? That way it gives you guys plenty of time to wash the car before hand. We go get some food, then we drive around. Also on the way to the first spot at the cul-de-sac, there is a park with basketball court, we can just sit there and hang out as well. I always got a ball in teh trunk, haha.
I want to do the shoots around 5PM at the earliest to get some good pictures. Hopefully we'll get about 10 people there! |

Check out the thread again. Me and another person are discussing alternatives to make it shorter. It might be more like a 6 hour meet.
