How to ship wheels
I'm new into this and I want to make it correctly, I need to ship a set of wheels and tires and I know pricing is between 100 and 150 for what I've read in all threats, however I just want to know how to make it correctly?
What kind of shipping should I use?? FedEx, UPS, USPS??? and what specific kind, Ground, Parcel??? I will ship in the same boxes in the ones I receive my new wheels with all protection, what is the avg. size for those boxes?? About the price that vendors and threads show,.... please tell me how you ship to get between that price. Thank you everyone!

Correct, when I shipped the wheels, FEDEX was cheaper of the two.
There are estimated rates on their web page and they came close, as long as you estimate the weight correctly, and input the correct box size. FYI, I shipped 4 wheels (28 lbs each) within the USA for about $125. Also, I just found out that it is possible to "ship" with Grayhound, too. Sounds like it may be cheaper. |

You could ship those wheels with DHL, FedEX or UPS as they're most commonly used- I have never heard anyone shipping wheels with USPS before. If you're shipping them in the same boxes that you received the wheels in, why are you asking us for the sizes?? You could measure the box and find out or just use those same boxes. Shipping companies usually give businesses a discounted because they get a lot of business from them. So I dont think you'll be able to get the same prices as businesses'. When you ship the wheels (packages) they will ask you what type of method you would like: ground (standard), express, overnight, etc. You dont really have to tell them it's parcels or anything because they already know. I mean a wheel is obviously not a letter or a small package. |
