Clutch/Transmission Noise
I get this weird clunk sound when I release the clutch and go into a gear. Does't matter how slow or fast I release it. It's worse when I go at slow speed/RPM. Sometimes if I shift around 3-4k it's very faint. The clunk can be heard and felt inside the car. It feels like it's coming from the rear of the car. The car was put on a lift and no mounts were torn nontheless. It happens 100% of the time if I'm in stop and go traffic and I release the clutch at around 1-2k RPM. Also, it occurs no matter if I'm upshifting or downshifting.

my issue described above is finally fixed. Had my valves walnut blasted this last weekend and the rattle/clunk when shifting is completely gone.. after months of putting up with it.. car feels now like the first day it was driven

To the OP: Have you thought about changing your clutch fluid and bleeding it? That's what I would do first. I'd then look into a transmission fluid change if you have offer 50,000 miles. |

I don't know, just sharing my experience.. perhaps the clunking was caused by the engine?

Unlikely. Clunks are usually caused by bushings.

perhaps clunk is a very generic term.. this "clunk" was not the suspension noise type of clunk
