Everybody has their own ways, some people like to baby it and follow the manual and some people just get on it from the get-go.
I didn't follow the manual and i just drove it like I would drive it from the get-go. Common sense things like waiting until the engine is up to operating temperature is more important than some particular break-in procedure, IMO. I drove it hard as well as easy during the first 1200 miles. I've been driving it the same way since then. Changed my oil at 1100 miles, could not find any shavings anywhere in the oil or filter. I also didn't burn ANY oil in that time, which is a good indication of a good seal. 6.5 quarts (OK maybe a couple drops less) drained out, and 6.5 quarts back in.

Its in the manual. Keep under 4,500 revs for first 2,000 miles I think...

DO NOT forget to change your oil at 1000 - it helps a lot and gets all the "guck" out of the system accumulated during break-in.
Drive the car till the engine is warm and HAMMER it when you can. Don't do it when its cold. Stop and go driving isn't bad either. Stay away from driving at a consistent speed and vary acceleration. Again, don't forget to change your oil.
