Nickname in thread title?

This happens quite regulary (and I've only seen it on M3 forums..) Why do a lot of people here speak about themselves in third person when creating threads? i.e "IloveM3's new wheels" and "BobtheBuilders photoshoot" etcetcetc...

The name of the thread starter is written right below the thread title anyway..
