Interior TRIM change
I'm not sure if this is right area of the board but I'll give it a shot.
can you change the interior trim on a new 5 series? the reason I ask is I'm looking for a low milage 550XI and struggling to find the right combination normally what gets me is the interior trim. If I knew that I could change that trim it opens up my options considerably. If i can change the interior trim any idea where I would order it and how much it costs ? thx MUCOL |

If you are referring to the wood or aluminum trim, yes this is easy to change. In fact, I have seen individuals trade out one color for another in the classified section. The parts are also available from getbmwparts com for $900 or so. Check with your local dealer as mine will meet or beat the online price.
Hope this helps. |

I did this myself, last year posted a ad in classified section if anyone was willing to trade my wood trim for aluminum hex trim. Found someone and I paid shipping costs and their uninstall costs. Saved over 50% then just buying them new from bmwparts.com. I uninstalled and installed them myself in my car. Not too hard, but a little time consuming with the center shift knob area piece.
