Official Bimmerpost photo contest no.69

Post a pic that the main subject is light or shadow. there was a contest back in 2010 (number 23, cast a shadow) that is quite similar, but it was 3 years ago and it is an interesting subject.

SUBMISSION WILL CLOSE ON SUNDAY 17/03/13
RULES:

1. Any interpretation of the theme that falls within Bimmerpost.com rules is welcome.
2. You must be the person that took the photo. Previous photos are acceptable as long as you are the one that captured the image.
3. One submission per contest, and you cannot resubmit a photo that you've submitted before in a previous contest.
4. Images must be no larger than 1024 px in any direction. Links to larger images are allowed but you must have one that is under 1024 px for the poll.
5. All contestants must host their own pictures (which includes hosting them on Bimmerpost).
6. All images must have a title.
7. While post processing in Photoshop is allowed, adding or removing parts of the picture is not. In the event a photo is suspected to be "photo-chopped," the contestant will be asked to provide the original picture.

"Virga" rain is rain or snow falling that doesn't reach the ground. It's pretty common in arid Colorado.

i've participated in EVERY contest on this forum since I discovered this sub section; even in those where my entry was last minute and was far from my ideal shot.

For most of those contests, I knew my shot wouldn't cut it. This one included. But still did it for the fun of it and its always nice to compare with the other shots. Even if I don't win, I still appreciate getting a few votes. As long as I dont finish last; or at least not ex-aequo in last place

Actually, since panicos doesnt participate, you actually got a good chance to win. LOL

I was trying to find one of the shots of the shadow of the floatplane over the burnt remnants of a forest fire in flight.. but it's in the abyss that is my 1TB worth of external drives haha

Oh, I forgot that you're a Colorado buddy.

That's up on the ridge in CCSP. You come in the Eastern entrance and go straight, instead of turning North or South. They've actually paved a couple of pull-off lanes where you can pull out of the way and watch sunsets, sunrises, etc. I was using the 500mm, so the distance is greatly compressed, making it hard to pinpoint where I was, even if you've stood there before.
