A bit of a rant...
So I a fellow forum member makes a post about wanting to sell his current BMW and get into another model. He was inquiring about the current value for his vehicle, then asking about any deals on the model he was looking to get into. I live in the same city as him and messaged him about how one of my contacts in local dealership could help him out with both of his questions. I told him how I just bought my M5 from them and they gave me a super fair deal for both my lease return and my M5. If he wanted, I could give him the details and he could make the call himself. Worst case scenario he at least has an ballpark figure in mind if he decides to walk away.
Well, after I messaged him, I got no reply, even though I know he was online afterwards. After a week of no reply, even though I know he'd been on everyday since I sent it, I fired off another message just to see if he got the first one (I know from past experience that if you're using a smartphone, they may not get any message indicators). I also posted in his thread to check his inbox. Again, a week later of him being online regularly I have yet to receive any reply. Anyhow, it's not a huge issue, but I know that this forum is a huge source of info, and helped me immensely when I bough my car, so I figured I could help someone who clearly was asking for help. The least he could do was acknowledge that he had received the offer to help. Whether he chose to accept it or decline it is entirely his decision. However, I just think it's a bit rude. /rant |

Unfortunately there are loads of people with no knowledge of many forms of etiquette. Lack of proper parenting skills that instil right principles and etiquette are to blame. I personally don't care if someone on this or any other forum didn't respond, but good on you for helping out.
Just remember what uncle choppers says. |

Hurt because a stranger didn't return your e-mail? Plus you checked to see if he was "online" multiple times. Almost stalker-ish. Maybe you should listen to Uncle Chopper.

Do what I watched many who were/are in Vancouver do and burn things since you didn't get your way.

He may have thought you were pimping a dealership to him, like you worked for them or something. People sometimes aren't going to accept help even if they need it.
