cobb map 0

I know this has probably been talked about a lot but I searched and didn't find much. The only reason I'm asking is I just got a recall notice for the positive bat. cable to the fuse box and I'm going to remove my cobb for the dealer visit. Is the cobb map 0 the same as the stock tune or is it different? If it is basically the same would switching from stock to map 0 be quicker because it not changing much? I know going from stock to stage 1 maps is a 20 minute thing (10 to save stock rom + 10 to flash stage 1) , so I was hoping that going to map 0 would be faster. I know you might say why not try it , but the problem is my battery is shot and needs to be changed. I just got it flashed back to stock and didn't want to chance going to map 0 and having the battery die on me. I know even though map 0 is basically stock I didn't want to chance it for the dealer visit.

It's better to uninstall the cobb before you go to the dealership. My battery is junk and i installed the cobb the other day and during the install my battery died and the cobb ap went into recovery mode, i put a battery charger on the car and then i clicked on the recovery option on the cobb and after a couple minutes it was done. I tried to start the car a few times but the car refused to start, i think it was because the install process was interrupted. i had to uninstall the cobb from the car to start back up. After couple minutes i installed the cobb again with the charger on the car and it was all good. I'll never try to install/uninstall the cobb with an old battery again.

Always uninstall Cobb before going to a dealer. It's a pain but its worth it.

Technically a dealer cannot "void" your warranty for seeing that you are using Cobb. A warranty can only be voided when you come in with a failure and they can prove that a mod you did to the car caused the failure. That being said, if the dealer sees cob on your car, they will likely take note somewhere and god-forbid, if you do need to go in for engine work later down the road, they will scrutinize your car much more closely to find proof that Cobb was used, or any other BS reason to "void" your warranty then.

Thats why I did flash back to stock I agree with you its not worth taking the chance. I just hate that when your back to stock you can't use the cobb for data logging unless you go map 0.

You only seem to be worried about what they will say about the tune... Won't the dealership take note of your other mods, i.e. your new intake and fmic?

Yeah I'm not to worried about the other mods. Its been to the dealer with the intake on before for warranty work (water pump and trans plug leak), maybe they don't care? I don't think the fmic will be an issue also.

Your prob right, it should depend on what type of work your doing. If it's warranty work I would def check with locals who know more abour the dealership since they vary a bit regarding to tolerance for mods.
