Cobb FMIC any comments?

I know this FMIC from Cobb is relatively new. Looking for feedback and comments if I should drop serious dough for it.

It looks like a copy of Helix which I like but has slightly better looking end tanks and welds.

Plus it's backed by Cobb so I'm assuming its ready for that Stage1+FMIC map. That's what I want.

It claims it had slightly higher cubic volume than helix.

give it a shot should be a good product! and yes that FMIC will support your stage 1! If you wanted you could get upgraded DP's and FMIC for that 950 price instead?

Although I cannot speak for the 335i world... yet...

From my experience with my old STi and Cobb products, it will absolutely be as high quality as possible. Cobb have a great thing going, and I'm glad that they have started entertaining more of the BMW crowd. Sure, the initial price might suck, but you get what you pay for in Cobb's regard.

I'd be willing to bet downpipes are next....

Check out the dyno database on their website and search for COBB tuning (for owner of the car), you'll get the different power for the different stages mods etc... don;t get some old maps confused with new ones as some of the old maps don't exist anymore

I live like 10 minutes from Cobb in Plano, TX ... I had them replace my Helix (looking to sell hehe) with their FMIC. They told me that their preliminary data shows that their FMIC is better than Helix's, but of course they would say that. I don't have exact numbers, but in my limited testing, it seems to perform (at the very least) just as well as the Helix. I did several 3rd and 4th gear pulls in 65F weather. I guess I'll see how it holds up once Summer is here.

They told me that they sold downpipes (catted) for the n54, but I don't see them on their website. He didn't tell me much about them, so it may not have been manufactured by Cobb.

why did you replace from Helix to the Cobb? They look very similar in design (stepped design)

judging from the pictures, i feel that the Cobb's finish looks a bit better than the Helix.
