Couple Of Newbee Questions... (Brakes & Weird Noise)

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could first help me on the number of brake pad sensors on a E92 330D..

Are there only 2, one on one side at the front, and one on one side at the rear?

I did try the search feature, but being somewhat of a forum slowmo, i couldn't find what I was looking for.

Also, I have discovered a faint rubbing/grinding drone, that seems to get louder as the car gets quicker! Its not brake related I don't think, possibly a wheel bearing.. Anyone had anything similar or are the 330d's renowned for failing bearings/hubs after 80k?

Advise much appreciated..!

Thanks

James the noise is very likely the o/s/r brake sensor. Remove the wheel, pull out the brake sensor, lightly sand the area of the sensor that contacts with the disc and apply a thin coat of copper grease to the rest of the sensor. Re-insert the sensor in the caliper and enjoy peace and quiet!
