What am I missing?

Hi Guys,

Just noticed that on the near side of the engine bay I can see through into the wheel arch, do I have a piece of lining or a cover missing?

I'll contact BMW tomorrow but if anyone has an answer so I can get a replacement part ordered that would be great.

Mine is the same so presume it is designed to let some heat out!

I thought the same when I first looked in my bay. Good to know I'm not the only one! Does seem quite a big open area to have exposed to road grime and water, etc. But I guess there for a reason?

I assume it's for mounting something that isn't present on our cars. I've cut a piece of mastic sheeting to cover up the hole to keep cr*p from entering the engine bay from the wheelarch. I like a clean engine

There is no BMW part to cover it...I've already investigated that.

Okay thanks for the info. I think I'll make up something to cover the holes as well
