How many of you change oil yourself?
I am thinking of getting my car an oil change myself, but it will be better if other guys plan to do so.

Its really easy to do especially with the location of the filter being so easy to get to compared to a filter mounted on the side of the block. By far the easiest vehicle I have ever changed the oil in

I get my oil (Mobil1 0W-40) from Autozone and I get points through their reward program. After $100, you get $20 certificate. Go in and buy 6 qts for $9/qt and I can take $20 off the total. I go so often for my oil there. It's just so much easier to do the change on the N54/N55 too.

Im not sure if your being a smart ass or not but your essentially saving 3.00. You have to dispose of your own oil as well and get dirty. |

I have extended maintenance. However, since they change it every 15-17k miles, I decide to do it halfway and let them do the free one. Besides, it's always better to do it yourself. You get to know your car a little better and you know that the oil change was done correctly.

Your time. My dealer takes 30 minutes to do it and I go look at the cars while I wait. It would take longer to do it yourself and drive and dispose of the oil....
Sorry I'm from Chicago and at a local dealer Bill jacobs BMW. |

"and you get dirty".... haha really? that's part of it. I like doing work on my own car rather than just having someone else do it, regardless of if it costs the same.
