Halfshaft possible problem
I have had my car raped by a idiot mechanic , and I am even bigger idiot for not stopping this sooner. Long story short , I have been busy laying on ground with car on jack stands for a long time to correct all the bad work that has been done. And today during a methline install I found this :
All studs where loose on passenger side. Car came from the mechanic little over a year ago. I dont know if its safe to clean and just put back together or if I need replace or do something. My plan is to use brake cleaner on the threads and clean hole and studs , blow dry with compressed air and the apply some locktite on studs and put them back in. My worry is the "grease" that has been thrown around this area , could this indicate damage or wear to my halfshaft , do I need to fill up with grease?

And I was wondering about ONE thing really , even tho it seems unlikely , the 6 threaded holes for the halfshaft , they are safe to fill with brake cleaner and blow clean?

yes why not? the threads do not actually go into the diff so you are fine...just make sure it dries before you try to put the bolts back in...even though brake cleaner dries almost instantaneously.

I planed to use brake cleaner and compressed air
then when dried , refit the studs with locktite. But the grease that have escaped so far , it need to be refilled somehow or what ?
