335i at dealer with alpina tcu flash
So my car is at BMW right now being diagnosed. My AT gear selector has the issue where I cant up/down shit with it. BMW whats to update me DME and everything, will this over wright my aplina TCU flash? or will they encounter any issues because of coding or the flash done to the car?

did you pop the trim off to see if there were any crimped wires under there? that's usually the cause of the issue. if they do update your ecu the flash will be back to stock.

This could potentially be a problem being there is different software in the TCU. I wouldn't be surprised if they flag your car when they see this. In for results.

cut wire/wires is usually the culprit and very common problem

pretty sure they'll just flash it to stock config just fine.. if problem is still present they will look at wires...
typical Dealership bullsh;t way of troubleshooting... do this if that doesn't work do this if that doesn't work do that if that doesn't work blame the intake...

wow, so they flagged you when they weren't even looking at the issue you went in for? or did you have them look at the leaks while you were there and they try to blame the IC?

called and asked me if i would like those leaks fixed i said sure why not, increased value of my claim. so they had to send someone out for approval of the fixes. and denied it based on what he saw when he opened my hood.
previous info in there system about the oil filter housing gasket which they claimed was "seeping" not enough to replace under warranty. I guess now were its "leaking" now a few x,000 miles later they decide to deny. based on unrelated parts or problems.

Its all up to the dealers. I have always taken my car fully modded. They have never hassled me regarding warranty. I mean, my car was fully modified with down pipes, procede, charge pipe, FMIC etc and they replaced the engine block due to it hitting the sub frame. All covered under warranty.
On the other hand, another dealer gave me shit for complaining the car had no oil cooler when I just bought it. Basically, the head tech said that it drove just fine and didn't require one. I told them I specifically wanted a model with oil cooler and it was too late as I had waited for my car 3 months before I received it. Long end of it, BMW and that dealer said no, I didn't need it. That was in the first 1000miles of the car and it was stock. Never went back there again! OP, good luck though. |

They did what they are meant to. Just Call BMW NA and tell them that the seep was noted back on a previous work order and was not corrected. And that you was informed it was not covered. Since then you replaced the FMIC and now they are saying same leak is not covered because of the part. When they never had an intention of covering it.
My question is why would you go to the dealer if the car has warranty with any mods on. |
