335d remap
Down to a choice of 2 but can't decide, anyone have a constructive opinion?
DMS or Evolve? DMS is more expensive but have a good reputation & offer a 'come to you' service with warranty (not sure how good this would be in practice though). Evolve are cheaper and also have a good reputatation but are a 2.5hour drive away from me and although that isn't my issue, the cost spent on fuel has to be taken in to account against the more expensive but 'come to you' of DMS. So...... Which map would be better? Sure the people that went DMS will say DMS and those that went Evolve will say Evolve cos I doubt very much there's anyone out there that have had both. So is there a product quality or reliability issue to be considering? I hate making decisions! |

Buttons, I had my 320D remapped by them and I'm really pleased. A few others on the forum have also used them and I've not heard anything but praise. I believe Simon who is the founder runs out of Bristol. Very competitive price wise too.

I Have the DMS map on my 335d. It was done on the rolling road and I ended up with the 3 map they tried as the power delivery was not only higher but also a much smoother delivery through the whole rev range.
Although expensive, I do know I have the best I can have on my car

How long have you been running it? Would love to hear you're thoughts post remap bar the obvious increase in performace. Any increase in MPG or does the fact your right foot is now heavier counteract! lol MPG is irrelavant to an extent, i'll get car mapped regardless, but it would be a nice little bonus! After spending the majority of last night reading about them and then talking to them this morning; EMaps are strong contenders! |

Perhaps you could explain why you would prefer a map from Evolve or DMS to one from Simon. Have you got any evidence that backs up your suggestion/inference that Evolve & DMS use maps that they developed themselves?

I will put my two pence in, looking around different company's to remap my 330d the expected power various so much. Looked at some claiming nearly 300bhp and Simons which is about 270ish?
I can't understand the big gap, surely they should all be around the same within 10bhp? I just feel if I'm paying I want the most power from it? Unless economy is your aim then fair enough. I also asked Simon in a email about my dpf filter will it cause more regens, I think it will as its going to burn more fuel! But I never got an answer to the questions just got a generic email which was a disappointment really. As I am tempted to skip a remap and remove dpf, egr and then map it! |
