lights flash when alarm set

when I bought my 2006 m sport last week and set the alarm there was no lights flashing ,today I set the alarm and the indicators flashed , can anybody explain why

Do you have I drive? You can set it in there? Only know that as I can do it on mine. If you haven't got I drive then I don't know.

its a plus anyway as I wanted the lights to flash just unsure why its just started

Nope jusr tried again and they didn't flash left it five mins and it did flash, how strange,

Read the manual if you have it that should explain it I would think? Well hopefully! I thought the indicators flashed to confirm its locked and set correctly!

Yep, flashing lights indicate its properly locked. If a door is ajar then they don't flash. It may just be a faulty sensor in the door, if you are certain that you had closed the door properly.
